On the eve of the USA’s 248th birthday, two American entertainer- activists, the Rev. Bud Green and actor-entrepreneur Alki David, announced their “Presidential Protest Campaign for Peace & Love & Liberty & Justice & P.O.T.” — the first plank of their platform being “federal legalization of marijuana, across all 50 States and U.S. Territories, for our country’s mental and environmental health.”
A HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE
Rev. Green and Mr. David highlight the historical significance of hemp, noting that founding fathers George Washington and Thomas Jefferson cultivated it. They propose to revive this tradition, aiming to plant hemp at significant landmarks in Washington, D.C.
A NATIONWIDE 3-D CAMPAIGN
Mr. David’s companies, including Hologram USA, plan to use advanced 3-D hologram technology to virtually conduct their campaign across the nation. This innovative approach aims to maximize their reach and engagement with voters.
THE P.O.T. PARTY PLATFORM
The campaign’s platform includes federal legalization of marijuana for medical, recreational, and therapeutic uses, emphasizing its benefits for everything from PTSD to enhancing personal relationships. They also advocate for the abolition of abortion, positioning it as a human rights issue and comparing it to historical atrocities.
NEW HOLIDAY PROPOSAL
The P.O.T. PARTY proposes establishing April 20th (4/20) as a federal holiday to celebrate marijuana access and to remember significant historical events that occurred on this date.
ENDORSEMENTS AND SUPPORT
The campaign has garnered support from various individuals and organizations who align with their values and goals, emphasizing a shared commitment to ending abortion and promoting the benefits of marijuana legalization.
CAMPAIGN STRATEGY
As the campaign kicks off, the Green-David team plans to launch TV and radio ads nationwide and hold rallies featuring major rock bands and virtual appearances through Hologram USA’s technology.
